The class comprised five ships: G132, G133, G134, G135, and G136. German torpedo boats were designated by shipbuilder; in the case of the G132 class, the ships were all built by Germaniawerft in Kiel, as denoted by the "G".[1] All five ships saw active service, and were scrapped after the end of World War I, in 1921. These guns fired a shell that weighed 1.75 kg (3 lb 14 oz) at a muzzle velocity of 850 m/s (2,800 ft/s). The guns could elevate up to 20 degrees, at a maximum range of 7,100 m (7,800 yd).[2] The last two ships of the class were equipped with two of the 5.2 cm guns and one 8.8 cm (3.45 in) SK L/35 gun. The 8.8 cm gun fired a shell weighing 7 kg (15 lb) at a muzzle velocity of 690 m/s (2,300 ft/s). The gun could be elevated to 25 degrees, for a maximum range of 8,790 m (9,610 yd).[2] All five of the ships carried three 45 cm (17.7 in) deck-mounted single torpedo tubes.[1] Ships of the class Boat Construction Commanders Fate Laid down Launched Commissioned Shipyard G132 12 May 1906 Germaniawerft Broken up, 28 May 1921 G133 30 June 1906 Germaniawerft Broken up, 28 May 1921 G134 23 July 1906 Germaniawerft Broken up, 13 May 1921 G135 7 September 1906 Germaniawerft Broken up, 10 October 1921 G136 25 August 1906 Germaniawerft Broken up, 20 August 1921 Footnotes ^ a b Gardiner and Gray (1984), p. 164 ^ a b Gardiner and Gray (1984), p. 140 References Gardiner, Robert; Gray, Randal, eds (1984).
